Randall Fee (email) was born and raised in Auburn and graduated from Placer High School in 1969.He lettered in Track and Baseball while attending Placer. Randall attended Oregon State University where he played baseball. He is now retired from P.G.&E. were he worked as a lineman and Senior Program Manager for 37 years. Randall was the Head Cross Country Coach at Placer High School for 16 years until his retirement in 2017. Randall also coached Baseball at Placer at the JV and Varsity level for 5 years. He is married to his wife, Christi, and his son Dustin teaches at Del Oro High School and is the Head Cross Country Coach.
Bob Burge (email) taught journalism and English at Placer High School from 1973-2006. For 38 years, he was the public address announcer at Lefebvre Stadium. Now retired, he is the former Chairman and current Board Member of The Hillmen Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports Placer High in the areas of academics, student activities, and athletics.
Lindsay (Hyatt) Barr (email) attended Placer High School from 1996-1999, although she practically grew up on campus since her dad was a P.E. teacher and coach at Placer. She was valedictorian of her class and 4-time California State Champion in the 800 meters. She lettered in Cross Country, Cross Country Skiing, and Track & Field. She now works for Stanford University as an analyst for the athletic department. She is married to Chris and they have two children, Cooper and Addison.
Jill Butler (email) attended Placer High School from 1990-1993, where she was a 4 year varsity athlete on the Girls Tennis team. Coached by the legendary Bill Miller, they went 89-2 during those 4 years as well as winning 4 CIF Section Championships. Jill was also a 3 year varsity athlete on the Girls Basketball team, coached by Hall of Fame inductees, Coach Mallory and Coach Meads. She went on to play tennis at Sacramento State and graduated with a BS in Kinesiology. Jill is a Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director at Del Oro High School. She was inducted into the Placer Athletic Hall of Fame in 2020, and is proud to be a Hillmen! Jill lives in Auburn and loves to run the trails and play tennis.
Tony Camillucci (email) was born in Oxnard, CA and raised in Weimar. He graduated from Colfax HS then Chico State with Liberal Arts degree and an elementary teaching credential. Tony taught at Foresthill Divide Middle school for 5 years and has been at Placer HIgh School for the past 26 years. He coached varsity girls basketball for 25 years. Tony is currently a special education teacher and still coaching basketball. Both his kids graduated from Placer (2017 and 2020). This is his third year on the Placer AHOF committee.
Pete Dufour (email) was Sports Information Director for Sac State 1974-1977, then became KAHI radio news director in the 1980’s where he broadcast play-by-play for over 500 area football and basketball games for KAHI, KNCO, Touchdown Productions and ACTV. Pete served as President of Auburn Little League and as PA announcer for Placer High, Sierra College and American River College athletics. He has been a sports official for 25 years, including coaching JV and Varsity Softball at Placer High. Pete is currently assigning D1and D2 college softball officials and served as a replay official with Pac12 Softball. Pete worked for the State of California in Intergovernmental Relations and Public Affairs as a Public Information Officer (now retired). His wife Janet graduated from Placer, and their children Mitchell and Stephanie each earned varsity letters for the Hillmen.
Brittany Haydon (email) is a third-generation Placer athlete who graduated in 1991. She was a member of Bill Miller’s Placer Tennis dynasty and, partnering with Adrienne Brearley, won the Section Doubles Championship title in 1990. After receiving her degree from the University of San Diego, Brittany returned to Auburn to join the Placer High School English Department, where she has been a member for nearly three decades. She married fellow English teacher Matthew Haydon and raised two daughters, Brenn and Kate, who were both Placer Cross Country athletes under the guidance of Coach Fee. Brittany loves campus life on “The Hill” and the memories made with colleagues and students.
Mark Lee (email) coached Placer Varsity Basketball to 514 wins. He was selected Sac-Joachin Section Coach of the Year in 2022, and CIF State Coach of the Year in 2023.
Karly Sipherd-Smith (email) was born and raised in Auburn, a second-generation Placer athlete who graduated in 2004, after lettering in Volleyball and Track & Field. Karly went to the University of Nevada on a full ride volleyball scholarship and earned All WAC honors all four seasons. She holds the school record for total blocks, and is in UNRs record book 16 times. Inducted into UNR’s Hall of Fame in 2019, and was inducted into Placer High Athletic Hall of Fame in 2020. When Karly and family moved back to Auburn in 2017, she began assisting the Varsity Volleyball Teamand took over as the Head Girls Volleyball Coach in 2021. Karly is currently teaching Life Skills and PE at Placer High - her definition of “living the dream”. Married to Craig Smith, Karly is raising four amazing kids: her little sister Makenna Sipherd, son Liam, son Klay and daughter Jane.
Kari Uno (email) was born and raised in Newcastle and graduated from Placer High School in 2003. She played volleyball all four years at Placer. Kari started at Placer teaching math and currently is teaching Leadership and Business Leadership, planning many of the student events on The Hill. Kari loves her four cats, all things Disney, the San Francisco Giants, working with her sister, Kaija, in the Art Department at Placer, and hanging out with her two nephews.
